We praise you Lord and we thank you for the opportunity to study and prepare for a good life in the future. Bless our teachers who inspire and guide us. Bless our parents who work hard to support us. Bless our classmates and all the people who care for us.Bless us, help us to be more attentive, patient and diligent to understand the lessons that our teachers teach us. This we pray in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

• The word “atom” comes from the ancient Greek word meaning ”undivided.” • They thought that an atom couldn’t be cut into anything smaller, which we now know is not exactly right.

Isotopes ▷ Play

+ My List

• The term "isotope" was introduced by the British chemist Frederick Soddy in 1913, as recommended by Margaret Todd. The word means "having the same place" from the Greek words isos "equal" (iso-) + topos "place." Isotopes occupy the same place on the periodic table even though the isotopes of an element have different atomic weights.

Isotopes ▷ Play

• Are atom of an element having the same atomic number but different mass number. • The atoms of isotopes of an element differ in the number of neutrons.
