Abstrak

Sekolah merupakan lingkungan sosial yang berpotensi sebagai sarana atau tempat perkembangan bagi siswanya. Proses pembelajaran yang dilakukan di sekolah, diharapkan dapat memberikan suasana belajar yang nyaman dan mampu mendorong kemauan siswa untuk belajar secara aktif (Rachmah, 2016). Kenyamanan siswa belajar di sekolah sangat penting untuk memaksimalkan proses penyerapan materi yang berpengaruh terhadap keberhasilan belajar dalam bidang akademik. Menurut studi, proses dan hasil belajar siswa dipengaruhi positif oleh kesejahteraan siswa itu sendiri di sekolahnya (Hidayah, Pali, Ramli, & Hanurawan, 2016). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara school well-being dengan academic achievement pada siswa SMP Negeri di Kota Tasikmalaya. Rancangan penelitian ini adalah non-eksperimental kuantitatif, dengan metode korelasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada 200 siswa SMP Negeri di Kota Tasikmalaya dengan teknik pengambilan data clustered sampling. Pengambilan data menggunakan kuesioner yang dibagikan melalui google form secara online. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui alat ukur School Well-Being Model Scale (Konu & Rimpela, 2002) dan nilai raport sebagai data sekunder untuk melihat Academic Achievement para siswa. Data diolah menggunakan uji Pearson Product Moment. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara school well-being dan academic achievement pada siswa SMP Negeri di Kota Tasikmalaya, dengan kekuatan sedang dan arah hubungannya positif (r=0.426; p= 0.000). Dilihat dari setiap dimensi school well-being, terdapat hubungan yang signifikan dengan academic achievement, dengan korelasi tinggi dan satu dimensi (health) sedang. Penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa school well-being memiliki peranan penting terhadap academic achievement siswa.

Abstract

School is a social environment that has the potential as a place for student’s development. Efforts to improve student well-being have not yet become the main agenda in every school. In fact, the well-being itself will ultimately affect almost all aspects of optimizing student functions in schools (Smith, 2010). According to studies, student learning processes and outcomes are positively influenced by the well-being of students themselves in their schools (Hidayah, Pali, Ramli, & Hanurawan, 2016). The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between school well-being and academic achievement in junior high school students in Tasikmalaya. This research design is non-experimental quantitative, with correlation method. This research was conducted on 200 junior high school students in Tasikmalaya with clustered sampling technique. Data retrieval using questionnaires distributed via online. The research data was obtained by measuring the School Well-Being Model Scale (Konu & Rimpela, 2002) and the report cards as secondary data to see the Academic Achievement of students. The data is processed using the Pearson Product Moment test. The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship between school well-being and academic achievement in junior high school students in Tasikmalaya, with moderate strength and the direction of the relationship is positive (r= 0.426; p= 0.000). Seen from each dimension of school well-being, there is a significant relationship with academic achievement, with a high correlation on three dimension and one dimension (health) is on average correlation. This study states that school well-being plays an important role for student’s academic achievement.
