In the background, we can see Georges fantasies like have a girl that loves him, and being rich (represented by a beautiful boat). 5. We can also see piles of books that represent the 100 books he planned to read. 6. When I read the story, I imagined that the characters were black because of the language they used and the way they lived. (Not in a racists way!)
